Eureka jumped from 5th to 2nd in the 2006 Rockhopper Trophy standings after a year-high 160 points at Carroll’s Springs, north of Ballan. Nillumbik has 1153 points after 10 rounds of the foot-o series to lead from Eureka (947), Bendigo (917), Bayside Kangas (881), and Yarra Valley (859), with 3 rounds to go (Mt Tarrengower this weekend, followed by the Victorian Middle-Distance Champs at Sailor’s Falls and our Victorian Long-Distance Championships at Mt Beckworth). Each of these end-of-season events carries points toward the Rockhopper Trophy “Club of the Year” title (won by the Nillumbik Emus 9 out of the last 11 years!). So let’s have a great effort – since everyone who attends scores some points – and give NE a run for their money over the next month!
