On Friday 18 May, Belinda Lawford and Aislinn Prendergast are headed for Orange, NSW, for the final selection trials for this July’s Junior World Orienteering Championships (JWOC) in Dubbo, NSW. This will be the first JWOC held outside of Europe. Both girls are members of the Victorian Nuggets in the National Orienteering League. Currently Belinda holds down 2nd with 181 points; Aislinn is 9th with 107 points. At the weekend, two NOL races will give junior selectors their final look at our hopefuls. Six boys and six girls will be chosen for a week-long training camp immediately following the trials to prepare for JWOC. We hope Belinda and Aislinn spike all their controls and have a great weekend of competition.
