Our talented EU juniors will be trying to make the 2007 Victorian Schools Orienteering Team at Mt Beckworth on Sunday 3 June. Led by former captain Aislinn Prendergast, Julie Lawford and Ian Lawford each of the trio have excellent chances of making the team after recording good runs at the mountain in the 2006 Victorian Long-Distance Champs last October. Belinda Lawford will also be there to support the trio, but as a selected member of the 2007 AUS JWOC team she is ineligible to be in the schools team for Dubbo, NSW. The goal for our three runners is a spot in the schools team which will be running in events during the JWOC Carnival. This Sunday will be a great way to get motivation for the future – a goal which Belinda achieved two weeks ago – a spot in Australia’s JWOC Team. Eureka have provided the maps, controls and finish results at no cost as another of our contributions to the Victorian Junior Squad. Last weekend’s Cyclic Navigator at Bullarto – organised by Ken and Anitra Dowling with the help of the Sunley family and others – raised well over $1000 for the Vic Junior Squad. Good luck and clean runs for our juniors.
