Aislinn will be “in the clouds” on her way to Primiero, Italy this Wednesday afternoon to represent Australia in the Junior World Orienteering Championships. This will be Aislinn’s second world championship campaign. She first represented Australia at the 2008 JWOC in Gothenburg, Sweden. This competition is the “top of the pyramid” for the world’s junior orienteers with individual races in sprint, middle and long distance. The week July 5-12 concludes with a prestigious relay between teams of three from over 40 of the top orienteering nations in the world.

Aislinn, a former student at Damascus College, currently represents Victoria in the Silva National Orienteering League and the Victorian Southern Cross Series.

Miss Prendergast will be joined in the JWOC team by Belinda Lawford, now resident in Canberra, whose family ran many orienteering competitions in the Ballarat area as members of the Eureka Orienteers.

Aislinn’s news from Italy will be sent direct to the Eureka Orienteers website from Italy. So check the Eureka website over the next few weeks as Aislinn reports on this highlight of her orienteering career to date.
