Good Morning Jenny,

Apologies for not making it last Thursday.  I didn’t leave work until 6.30pm.

I will see if I can get to Mt Helen this week and may have friend who is also interested!  Will see if I can convince him.

Regards

Karen Werner,

Manager

The second run of the current series was run last Thursday evening and, because Jenny organised it, it was wet but only a little wet this time, unlike her event at the lake in December last year.

Nine hardy souls turned up for their day’s exercise and were rewarded with some practice of  fine navigation skills in the pony club grounds (trying to sort out which little green line represented which horse jump) as well as a chance to get the legs and heart pumping with some long legs in Victoria Park. Hazards this week included rampaging horses and vociferous horse riders (despite us having booked the grounds as a horse-free time). Another difficulty was trying to get an A3 map in an A4 plastic bag (people learnt about the need for a map bag after the last wet event). Results are below and the map is attached (it was an A3 print for those of you considering printing it off).

The number of runners was disappointing. Did the weather put people off? Was it the later start time of 6pm ?

Next Thursday ( 1 March) there will be an extra event in the series. James will run an event at Federation Uni, Mt Helen, starting near the tennis courts. Mass start time will be 6pm. James has promoted this event amongst the University community and we hope we will have some new faces there. Of course, we “old faces”/ regulars are also welcome.

The following week our regular schedule resumes on Thursday 8 March with an event at Nerrina- start is off Ainley St at 6pm.

And the last event for this series is at Lake Gardens on Thursday 22 March. Jenny is down to organise this one too, so it promises to be WET!  Unless somebody else is willing to step in. All offers gratefully received.
