Hello All Eurekans
I just wanted to try to encourage as many Eurekan Orienteers as possible to enter Sunday’s event at Nerrina!
As these Autumn Series events are this year contributing in a new format to the statewide Rockhopper Club Award, any and every Eurekan can contribute greatly just by turning up. This year there are points awarded based upon how many members turn up out of a club’s total membership. After 2 events, and of the 10 Victorian Clubs who have participants in the 2 events so far, Eureka Orienteers are in 2nd place!!!
So, as this event is so close to Ballarat try to get on down to Nerrina and maybe the glory days when Eureka used to dominate the Rockhopper trophy may return this year!!!!!
I can even go so far as to offer a lift if anyone needs it but maybe only for 2 people as my car is small!
Anyway, apart from that, it would be great to see you all on Sunday!
Kind regards,
Gary (Eureka Orienteers)
🙂

Hi Ian
Could you pass this information on to Ballarat orienteers?
It is a free workshop on April 3rd and can also be streamed live.
I have been to a previous event run by Shawn and it was extremely informative and useful.
This is a workshop worth attending. You will also have opportunity for networking.
Please let me know if there is a better contact for sending this kind of information to.
Thanks Ian!

Dear Inclusion and Diversity Friends,

It is time for the Sport Inclusion CoP to get out of the city! We are taking the Sport Inclusion CoP down the road to Ballarat for the evening of Wednesday April 3rd.

The forum coincides with World Autism Awareness/Acceptance Day and will celebrate the role of people with autism, their families and coaches in shaping more inclusive sporting opportunities for everybody.

The forum will celebrate, recognise and share the knowledge of some really great Victorians covering research in well-being, mental health and social skills while also having a focus on strategies and experiences shared by Kellie Tait and Elise Muller.

As always the event will be live streamed with the aim of increase accessibility to information for those who can’t make the evening in person.

Please see the attachment for further details and to register to attend in person or via live streaming.

As always feel free to let me know if you have any questions or comments.

All the best,

Shawn

Hi all,

It’s Club Relays time again, so please read the attached info, then let me know by return email which course you would like to enter. If you already know who you want to run with, sending me a complete team of three is even better!

I need team structures/numbers in by Friday next week 29 March.

The Club Relays are quite relaxed, great fun, and also a great opportunity to earn a lot of points in one go for Eureka in the Rockhopper Trophy.

Looking forward to a good turnout.

Regards, Ian

Hello Eurekans!

RE: Creswick Event @ Petticoat Gully, 10th of March, 2019

I am writing about our event at Petticoat Gully, Creswick, on Sunday, the 10th of March. The planning and decisions are well under way. So this email was just a request for any assistance you could offer on the day with various roles, such as parking, registration tent, start duties etc.

Most everyone should be able to get a run if they want but I was just hoping if you reply and let me know how you can help, I will collate and send out a roster of duties!

Please let Gary (me!) know by sending a reply to me at the following email address.

Thank-you and looking forward to seeing you soon!

Kind regards,

Gary Buchan

[EurekaO] This afternoon’s Ballarat MapRun – not to be missed!

Hi all
Perfect early autumn weather, coupled with a map that includes parks, bush along the Canadian Creek and streets in changing suburbs, should make for a challenging 45 minutes of walking, jogging or riding. Using the new format with smartphones – it’s easy – just download the Map Run app free and bring your smartphone. If you haven’t got one – come along and tag along with someone who has! Maps will be distributed prior to 5 pm. So come early and find out all about this form of simple map navigation. All participants get a paper map – cost $5 per map. So bring your dog, or bring your pram, or let the kids tag along! Warwick’s course will challenge and make a perfect end to this weekend.

Just a suggestion that with the upcoming events, would it be possible to have an event created on Facebook?  That would allow the event to be shared on other Facebook pages for the Ballarat area.
