Eureka runners scored a record 124 state series points to move up into 5th place in the Rockhopper Trophy Club of the Year Standings. Nillumbik (820) tops the club table with Tuckonie (659), Yarra Valley (577), Bayside Kangaroos (571) and Eureka in 5th place on 553 points. This was Eureka’s best effort for the year after scoring 103 at the Blowhole, 91 at Malmsbury, 84 at Eppalock, 25 at Albury, 46 at Barrambogie and 80 at the You Yangs in the six previous rounds. It is just a matter of turning up at state events, running the course you select, and the points will come. Kooyoora State Park will be the site of Round 8 and 9 at the end of August – a great chance to run/walk on the 1985 World Championship map two days in a row. The wattles should be in full bloom.
