Hi all
It was very satisfying to see so many Eureka members put in the big effort to make the Garibaldi event such an outstanding success. COVID has a very unsteadying effect on all clubs in Victoria. But with 17 out of the 88 competitors being from our small but talented club, todays event showed we still organise a quality event. So many thanks from Roch, Ian, and Blake that set up the framework- and to Mark, Bill, Toby, Monica, Ken, Anitra, Warwick, Aislinn, Judy, Dale, Glenda, Chris, Terry, Gary, BJ and Rod for filling in all the gaps! It was a really good team effort – and all the gear was back in the Eureka store by 3:30!
But there is more coming up. Blake (courses) and Ian (computer and map revision) are well advanced in planning for the Creswick Forest MTBO event in a fortnight’s time. Though we probably won’t get the competitor numbers we had today, we will still need a good team of workers (and riders) on Sunday 24th April. So check your calendars and please email Blake on blakegordon1@bigpond.com if you can help out in registration, parking, start, finish or control collection. The event assembly area is just north of the 5-ways intersection on White Swan Road – just 2 km on Codes Forest Road. This was the site for the first Australian MTBO Championships back in 1998 so be a part – riding or just taking a walk / run in this mix of eucalyptus / pine forest near the Goldfields track. Hope to see good support from our little club to make this Vic MTBO Series #1 as successful as your efforts made today a winner!
Cheers Blake
